Acupuncture

I began my studies of acupuncture and the Chinese wisdom traditions in 1982. I hold a Licentiate in Acupuncture from the College of Traditional Acupuncture, Royal Leamington Spa, U.K. and a Masters Degree in Acupuncture from Tai Sophia Institute (now Maryland University of Integrative Health). In addition I’m certified as a Diplomate from the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). It’s been my pleasure and privilege to be a licensed, practicing acupuncturist since 1985.

Tai Sophia and now MUIH has been my professional home since 1996. During that time I’ve taught in their graduate degree programs in acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, health coaching, Applied Healing Arts, and Transformative Leadership and Social Change. Through selection by graduating students, I’m a five-time recipient of the Great Esteem Award in recognition of my commitment and contribution to students’ learning and excellence as practitioners.

Zero Balancing

I studied with the founder of Zero Balancing®, Fritz Smith MD, in the early ‘90’s and was certified as a practitioner in 1995. Zero Balancing® provides me with a very powerful and elegant tool to elicit change in the physical body.

Integrative Hypnosis

In 2013 I completed a course of study with Melissa Tiers, the founder of the Center for Integrative Hypnosis in New York City. Certification through her also qualified me to become a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, the oldest and largest organization of hypnotists in the country.

In addition to helping patients work directly with their unconscious mind, training with Melissa greatly expanded the number of tools I have available for conscious change work: Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or “tapping”, powerful ways to change thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and energy psychology.
